Our History

Van Dyk Health Care, Inc. is celebrating 70 years of caring, grounded in six consecutive decades of private ownership by the Van Dyk Family. Since 1953, we’ve provided a distinctly different approach to caring for patients and residents throughout the regions we serve – including Bergen, Passaic and Essex counties and beyond.

With an unsurpassed reputation for excellence in care, the Van Dyk Health Care legacy began when Marvin Van Dyk, along with his father Barney and brother William, decided to pursue a lifetime of service to others in need. Through his nursing experience, Marvin developed a real concern for the needs of seniors and their families. This heartfelt dedication became the genesis of what today has evolved into Van Dyk Health Care.

In 1994, Marvin’s son, Robert, who has dedicated over 35 years of his life to senior care, was asked to continue the tradition by becoming president & CEO of Van Dyk Health Care upon his parent’s retirement.

Today, still grounded in our heritage of caring for our community, Van Dyk Health Care represents the full continuum of care services, including assisted living, home care, memory care and Alzheimer’s day care.
