Afrika Parks has 15 years of experience in long-term care settings with a proven record of achieving growth, stability and quality care. As Administrator of Van Dyk Health Care at Ridgewood, she oversees operations for one of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Nursing Homes in America.” Her award-winning facility has remained under the Van Dyk family’s ownership since 1953.
She serves as a member of the Outstanding Nurse Leaders of New Jersey (ONL) Mentorship Committee and the Finance Committee, as well as the American College of Health Care Administrators.
Afrika holds a Master’s degree in Nursing from Walden University and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Kaplan University. She is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health as an LNHA.
Bennett P. Leifer, MD
Bennett P. Leifer has been the Medical Director of Van Dyk Health Care at Ridgewood since 1992. He has received many prestigious honors such as “Best Doctors: Primary Care” from New York Magazine, “Best Doctors in New Jersey” from New Jersey Monthly.

Director of Admissions
Kathy O’Leary is the Director of Admissions at Van Dyk Health Care at Ridgewood. She started with the Van Dyk family in the Finance Department and has 17 years in Sub-Acute Care. She has a comprehensive understanding of the workings of hospital level Accountable Care Organizations & Medicare Bundling programs in addition to short and long term care benefits to seniors. She is a fierce advocate for seniors with the ability to find hope and compassion in every situation.
